Meet the Captain

Aidan Kelly was raised in the Village of Cotuit, Cape Cod, Massachusetts and has been fishing the waters of Cotuit Bay, Nantucket Sound and beyond for a lifetime. Aidan Kelly is a U.S. Coast Guard Master Captain who is credentialed to operate passenger vessels up to 25 tons including fishing charters and passenger cruises. Aidan also holds a U.S. Coast Guard Assistance Towing Endorsement which permits the operator to commercially assist other vessels that may be aground, disabled, out of fuel, or experiencing some other type of malfunction that requires towing. Aidan is also credentialed by the National Transportation Safety Board (“NTSB”) and holds a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (“TWIC” card) required by the Maritime Transportation Security Act for workers who need access to secure areas of the nation’s maritime facilities and vessels.

Aidan is an avid and accomplished fisherman, having mastered the fine art of locating fish and finessing fish of all species into the boat with his well-honed techniques. Aidan has a record of success catching tuna, sharks, striped bass, blue fish, sea bass, flounder and most of Cape Cod’s aquatic species. He is an experienced outdoorsman and skilled hunter of waterfowl and game. He regularly hunts duck and geese on Cape Cod and has successfully hunted game including moose, boar and deer. Aidan’s professional experiences include working as an oysterman / aquaculturalist for the Cotuit Oyster Company and serving as a mate on fishing vessels running out of Barnstable Harbor. Aidan is certified by the American Red Cross in Adult and Pediatric First Aid / CPR / AED, as well as Lifeguarding for Professional Rescuers. He holds additional certifications in boating safety, All Terrain Vehicle “ATV” operation, hunter safety and trapping.

Aidan is a student at Boston College and is a member of the class of 2027 who will receive a B.A. degree in communications in May, 2027. He was recruited to Boston College’s Division 1, ACC swim team and was a team member from August, 2023 through September, 2024 when he retired in good standing. Aidan was an award winning swimmer throughout his competitive swimming career; was a New England Champion in multiple events in various years; was named a New England Swimming Outstanding Swimmer and was a New England Top Ten award winner for multiple years in numerous swim events. He is a proud former member of the Cape Cod Swim Club having received numerous awards through the years including “Top Competitor”, “Top Performer” and held both individual club records and relay records. He also holds the local distinction of receiving the Swimmer of the Year Award at the Hyannis Yacht Club.
